I got a shock when I opened the chicken coop the other day and found a gigantic egg! Okay, so it's not an ostrich egg or anything but for my little Cinnamon this was a great achievement. I wanted to bake with it right there and then, and to my surprise, it had two yolks! Well done Cinnamon!
She is back to laying smaller eggs right now and I have no problem with that as the weather is getting wetter and darker and she's only been laying for a couple of weeks.
We're still waiting for Sorrel to lay us a little blue egg when she feels ready. Sage will be arriving soon to settle in with my little chicken family too.
Cinnamon is still supplying us with eggs nearly daily. They are still quite small but she is doing well. Sorrel hasn't started laying yet, we don't think it'll be too long though as they are roughly the same age, she is the new chick on the block though so it may take her a bit of time to settle in to the new routine. We're hoping to get our fluffy Silkie girl Sage soon too.
Our herbs and spices were in different containers and taking up lots of space.
But after a trip to our health food shop we have them all organised and labelled. We didn't quite buy enough jars so another trip will be needed soon. But I had lots of fun sorting them all out, making lists of what I need and verging on OCD at times!
