::: Spring Lambs :::

What better way to start the month than with lambs? I can't think of anything better.

These ewes are surrogate mothers, meaning they had embryos from other sheep implanted into them. The lambs are bred from showing sheep but these ewes make better mothers.

Twelve of these little guys (and girls!) were born between 3am and 5am yesterday morning, but this little one was born today:

  1. Your lambs are so cute! I can't believe you had 12 born in two hours - and especially *those* two hours! I think our record was 7 in one day, which was plenty for me. :)

    And what an amazing barn set up you have. I'm so jealous. And I don't think I'd better even show it to Joe. ;)

  2. Thanks Susan!

    They are not technically 'ours'. They are on the farm we live on but belong to someone else.

    I love your donkeys! :)

  3. Ha, that sounds like a perfect sheep setup. And it makes me feel better since you'd mentioned both of you have off farm full time jobs, too. (Congrats on your new job!) I was starting to *really* feel like a slug. ;)
