::: Ben Lora :::

Steve had been begging me to go for a walk up Ben Lora while I was home. It is a hill walk not far from Oban. We had previously walked up it before but never all the way to the top.

So last weekend after the baby bunnies went off to their new homes we went out and walked all the way to the viewpoint. It was a long way and quite hard when you aren't used to it.

And windy at the top!

::: Bye Bye Bunnies :::

Two of our three baby bunnies went off to their new home last weekend.

We were very sad to see them go but glad that they both went together to live with a lovely family. They are to be called Stacey and Gavin!

Little Marshmallow is staying with us and is currently living with Layla. Henrick is doing fine and is still my little snugglebunny :)

::: Bird Feeder and Helper :::

We decided to get a new bird feeder as the ones we had already were mostly plastic and they tended to fill up with water when it rained, which is pretty much all the time in Scotland.

So we got a metal one with holes all the way down to the bottom so the water would drain out.

Lucky happily watched as I put it up, he's a great little helper.

::: Runaway Lambs :::

While we were driving back home the other day, we turned into our long farm road and spotted two little lambs happily escaping from the field while their mothers were bleating away trying to get there attention.

Stopping the car so as not to drive them further up the road, I got out leaving Steve in the car with three baby bunnies, fresh from their health check at the vets, and tried to corral them back through the fence.

They were having none of it and were only getting so close before running away again.

Steve eventually came to help and I managed to get a hold of one while he opened the gate and we happily plopped him back in with the rest. The other little one was trying it's hardest not to come anywhere near us and tried, on a few occasions, to climb the wall but he eventually wormed his way through the gate too and back to his family.

What an exciting day!

::: HOME :::

Oh how I love being home! Even if it only for four days!

Since coming home I've wrestled with a lamb, spotted a deer in the garden, climbed Bein Lora (a hill not far from Oban), got three baby bunnies sexed and sown some onion seeds.

I've missed the country so much, and to think I've got to go back to the city next week for another ten days! I can't wait until I'm home again for good.

The hotels that I have been staying in are lovely but there is nothing quite like being at home.

This time I'm going to try and post my blog entries so they will automatically be posted while I'm away. I think it will feel a little strange but let's see how it goes shall we?

::: Hi Ho, Hi Ho... :::

...It's off to work I go.

Today is the day I leave home for my first stint of training. Steve will be left with all the bunnies plus Lucky for eleven days. Yes, eleven whole days!

I'm sure they will all be fine, I've left loads of notes around the house about what and when to feed the animals and how to work the washing machine etc.

I'm hoping to come home to a nice clean house with lovely and clean rabbit hutches and happy animals, with Steve in the middle of it all telling me never to leave him again.

I will be taking my camera with me and will try and keep you all updated as much as I can about what's happening. I'm not 100% sure of Internet access yet so you may not hear from me for a while.

Wish me luck!

::: More Felt Animals :::

I love how each little animal comes out differently each and every time.

I also decided to create a happy hedgehog.

{This Moment}

I had a bit of work-realted socialising to do yesterday with another Assistant Manager, so I never got around to blogging.

::: Little Purse :::

I came across this the other day.

This little purse was the very first thing I ever made. I made it at school with the help from my teacher.

I never used it for anything as it was so special that I didn't know what I could possibly store inside it.

But I have kept it all this time and moved house with it 3 times. I guess I should maybe use it but what shall I put init, any ideas?

::: NEWS :::

Today I was promoted to Assistant Manager in this new job of mine!

It means some training away from home for a short period of time but it'll all be worth it in the end.

On another note:

I feel old! My eldest nephew is twelve today! Twelve! Happy Birthday!

::: Spring Lambs :::

What better way to start the month than with lambs? I can't think of anything better.

These ewes are surrogate mothers, meaning they had embryos from other sheep implanted into them. The lambs are bred from showing sheep but these ewes make better mothers.

Twelve of these little guys (and girls!) were born between 3am and 5am yesterday morning, but this little one was born today:

::: New Times Two :::

As March begins (Happy St David's Day!) and Spring inevitably approaches, there are many changes on the cards around here.

A new month. A new job!

I have started a new job in a brand new clothes shop!

Okay, so I live in my wellies and practically roll around in the mud but they don't know that...

At work I have to know about fashion and always have a smile on. It' also a great way of meeting new people as we haven't lived here long enough to make friends.

As it's a new store I've been totally involved in the outfitting and layout of it. I've been trained in so much 'Health and Safety' it's coming our of my ears, but I've enjoyed every minute of it.

It's great that everyone is starting at the same time and we are all in the same boat so to speak. We can all learn (or panic!) together and help one another.

Let's hope we get lots of customers and sell lots of stuff!
