Because we don't have a lot of outside space at the moment, we have nowhere to keep our logs for the fire. We don't buy coal 1. because it's expensive and 2. because it's messy.
I bought a Paper Log Maker from ebay a little while ago and it is the beat thing ever. I soak some torn up paper in water overnight:
Then I piled the paper into the log maker, pull the handles over the top to squeeze out the excess water (I recommend doing this over a sink if you don't have wipable floors):
It makes little 'bricks' of paper which was can then burn. It recycles our mail as well as not making any mess.
It's a great way to keep cosy and also cheap once you have bought the Paper Log Maker.
